Judith R. Shamp

Will do a presentation at the June meeting of Houston Area Fiber Artists

                                               Generating Ideas for Art

What provokes your creativity?  Does your muse take you to new fiber frontiers to explore unknown territory?  Is there depth of character and symbolism pushing into and through your art?

With a power point presentation, hands on samples, works in progress and story telling, Judith will share her exploratory adventure to California and how numerous treks back to her home state engaged her muse and deepened her art. Prior to 2004, symbolism began pushing her work into deeper and richer images as she was pulled into family history in the popular Napa area of California.

She will show specific ways of using templates, ways to layer sheer fabrics to bring a depth of color/translucency into fiber work and how to work with particular images in many formats, such as collage, quilting and framed pieces of fiber art. Judith will introduce you to unique materials that she finds indispensable to her artistic journey.
